Category Sourcing Exchanges
Category Sourcing Exchanges provide the opportunity for buyers from specific product/service categories to engage with suppliers who offer services specifically within those categories. This program allows for a highly focused and productive connection between supply-chain decision-makers and DBE suppliers.
Supplier Capability Reviews
These small group sessions bring together three to four non-competing DBEs to review business strengths and opportunities. The Review Forum also allows the Council to provide valuable feedback which may help DBEs successfully capitalize on corporate purchasing opportunities. Showcasing their business with Council staff assists the Council with valuable information regarding the products and services provided by the DBE. The outcome produces a better understanding of the DBE and more accurate match-making capability.
The Council will provide a variety of professional development training and seminars to help you more effectively run and grow your business. We will use subject matter experts from major buying corporations, DBEs and industry leaders to provide the content for our professional development programs.
High Performance Supplier Series
The HPS series is a collaboration with University of San Diego School of Business and, will be facilitated in our 12,500 square foot training center. The program will provide professional development trainings and workshops to help diverse business enterprises more effectively run and grow their businesses. We use subject matter experts, industry leaders and USD Faculty to provide the content for our professional business development programs. Special Professional Development Workshops
The Council will periodically host professional development workshop on a variety of business subjects. These workshops will cover topics that include sales strategy, safety certification, leadership and management, veteran business opportunities, and will address current changing trends. They will be conducted by subject matter experts in partnership with the Council. Please check our events schedule for upcoming programs.
Emerging Entrepreneur Academy
This is a virtual Academy designed to assist small emerging diverse business owners within each Economic Empowerment Zone. The supplier leadership ambassador members along with other successful suppliers and our local corporate partners will serve as advisers and mentors. These technical assistance programs will be provided on a bimonthly basis. The meeting agenda includes:
– An Update on the Economic Activity Within the EEZ
– Experienced Business Speakers
– An Advisory Roundtable Session
– Networking Reception
The Emerging Entrepreneur Academy will promote increase economic and business development value within our diverse business community. All of our corporate partners, diverse business enterprises, community partners and local leaders are encouraged to support this program. The Academy is designed to build future DBE suppliers by teaching young men and women from under-served communities how to identify, plan and start their own businesses. We teach them key fundamental structures, business plan development, industry knowledge and systems models that will give them a jump start. A 10-week program in which students learn business skills and receive one on one mentoring, leadership and internship opportunities at successful DBE companies.
