The most successful businesses continually seek to improve and grow. In the challenging global business environment we are all experiencing, it is even more important for business leaders to take a step back and look at their organization’s health and to identify areas for improvement. The University of San Diego School of Business and the Council for Supplier Diversity are partnering to offer a series of workshops designed specifically for minority, women, service disabled veteran, and Native American–owned companies. Subsequent workshops will focus on Effective Cost Control & Resource Management, Managing People: Leveraging the Human Asset, Strategies for Financing and Financial Management, then back to Organizational and Operational Strategy. You will also build your network as you interact with San Diego regional business leaders. In every session, your company is the focus.

Who Should Attend
Owners and senior executives of minority, women, service disabled veteran, and native american–owned companies who have a minimum of 3 years’ experience running a small business.

Program Cost
The cost for the day-long workshop is $149 and includes materials, morning and afternoon coffee break, lunch and a networking reception.

Workshop Content
This workshop is focused on Financial Management, with an introduction to the fundamental principles that guide business owners in making asset management and financing decisions. During this workshop, you will learn about the measurement of cash flow and its central role in financial analysis, after reviewing time value of money concepts. You will practice applying tools such as Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, and the profitability index to project evaluation decisions. In addition, you will learn the basic financial ratios which can be used to measure the profitability and monitor the risk of your business.
